About this calculator

This tool gives you a transparent, estimated range for a website project based on the scope you select — the type of site, how many pages it has, the design level, the features you need, who is creating the content, how much SEO work is involved, and how fast you need it. It's meant for planning and for having a clearer conversation with a developer or agency.

The numbers come from ToolLora's own estimation model. They are calculator assumptions for planning purposes, not universal market prices and not a guaranteed quote. Every business, freelancer, and agency prices work differently, and rates vary widely by country and by how complex the real requirements turn out to be. Non-USD amounts use fixed internal conversion factors, not live exchange rates.

What affects the cost of a website?

The biggest drivers are scope and custom work. A template-based landing page with content you provide yourself sits at the low end. Costs climb as you add pages, move from a template to a fully custom design, layer in features like user accounts, payments, booking, or custom integrations, ask for content to be written, add SEO work, or compress the timeline. Custom web applications are the widest range of all because "custom" can mean almost anything.

Why website prices vary so much

Two websites that look similar can cost very different amounts. A solo freelancer, a small studio, and a large agency have very different rates. A developer in one country may charge a fraction of what a developer in another does. Some projects reuse existing components; others are built from scratch. Requirements also shift once work begins. That's why this calculator shows a range rather than a single figure, and why you should treat the result as a starting point, not a fixed price.

What this estimate does not include

The project range is a one-time build estimate. It excludes recurring costs such as web hosting, domain registration and renewal, ongoing maintenance or support retainers, and third-party SaaS subscriptions (for email, e-commerce platforms, booking systems, and similar). Budget for those separately as monthly or yearly costs.

Website cost FAQ

How much does a website cost?

It depends heavily on scope. A simple landing page or small brochure site is usually at the lower end, while e-commerce stores and custom web applications are far higher. This calculator gives you an estimated range for your specific selections so you have a realistic starting point.

What affects website development cost?

Site type, number of pages, design level, features (such as accounts, payments, booking, or integrations), how much content needs to be created, the amount of SEO work, and the timeline. Who builds it — a freelancer, studio, or agency — and where they are based also make a large difference.

Is this website cost estimate a quote?

No. It's a planning estimate generated from ToolLora's internal model. It is not a quote, an offer, or a claim about market prices. Always get real quotes from providers before budgeting a project.

Does website hosting cost extra?

Yes. This estimate is for the one-time build only. Hosting, domain registration and renewal, and any third-party SaaS subscriptions are recurring costs that are not included here — plan for them separately.

Does this calculator include ongoing maintenance?

No. Maintenance plans, support retainers, content updates, and security or platform updates after launch are excluded. Many providers offer these as a monthly or yearly add-on, so treat maintenance as a separate line in your budget.
