About this random number generator

ToolLora's random number generator picks numbers for you within a custom range, directly in your browser. Set a minimum and a maximum, choose how many numbers you want, decide between whole numbers or decimals, and choose whether the same number can appear more than once. Nothing is sent to a server, so it works offline once the page has loaded and your inputs stay on your device.

How to generate a random number

  1. Enter the minimum number of your range.
  2. Enter the maximum number of your range.
  3. Choose how many numbers you want (1 to 1,000).
  4. Choose integers (whole numbers) or decimals, and for decimals pick how many decimal places.
  5. Decide whether duplicates are allowed.
  6. Select Generate and copy or sort your results.

Common uses for random numbers

Random numbers are handy for board and party games, classroom activities and warm-ups, picking a winner for a giveaway or prize draw, choosing a random sample from a list, assigning people or items to groups, seeding simulations and models, and generating test data while building software. Whenever you need an impartial pick and don't want to reach for physical dice, this tool does the same job.

Random integers vs random decimals

An integer is a whole number with no fractional part, such as 7 or -3. A decimal (or floating-point) number can include a fractional part, such as 7.42. Use integers for counts, dice rolls, lottery-style picks, or list positions. Use decimals when you need a value within a continuous range — for example a random probability between 0 and 1, or a random measurement. When you choose decimals you also set how many places to round each result to.

Can I generate multiple random numbers?

Yes. Set "How many numbers?" to any value from 1 to 1,000. With duplicates allowed, each number is drawn independently, so the same value can appear more than once. With duplicates turned off, every number in the result is unique — which means the quantity you ask for cannot be larger than the count of distinct values your range can produce.

Frequently asked questions

Is this random number generator free?

Yes. It's completely free, with no signup, no account, and no limits on how often you use it.

Can I generate multiple random numbers at once?

Yes. Enter any quantity from 1 to 1,000 in the "How many numbers?" field. The results are shown together and can be copied or sorted in one step.

Can I generate random numbers without duplicates?

Yes. Set "Allow duplicates" to No and every number in the result will be unique. If you ask for more numbers than the range can supply without repeating, the tool shows a validation message instead of generating an invalid list.

Can I generate decimal numbers?

Yes. Choose "Decimals" as the number type, then pick between 1 and 6 decimal places. Each result is a random value within your range, rounded to that many places.

What is the minimum and maximum range I can use?

You can set any minimum and maximum, including negative numbers, as long as the minimum is not greater than the maximum. Very large values are supported, though extremely large ranges can lose precision the way any calculator does.

Are the numbers generated on my device?

Yes. Generation runs entirely in your browser using its built-in random number source. Your inputs and results are never sent to ToolLora or anyone else.

Is this generator suitable for passwords or cryptographic security?

No. This tool is intended for general-purpose random numbers — games, draws, sampling, testing, and similar uses. It should not be treated as a dedicated cryptographic or security tool. For passwords, keys, or tokens, use software designed and audited for that purpose.
