About this invoice generator
This tool helps you put together a clean, professional invoice directly in your browser — add your business and client details, line items, discounts, taxes, and notes, then print it or save it as a PDF. It's a document generator, not an accounting platform: it doesn't send invoices, process payments, or save anything to an account.
How to create an invoice
Fill in your business details under "From," your client's details under "Bill To," and add one or more line items describing what you're billing for. The preview on the right updates instantly as you type. When it looks right, use "Print / Save as PDF" to produce a document you can send to your client.
What should an invoice include?
Most invoices include an invoice number, issue and due dates, your business details, your client's details, a description of goods or services with quantities and rates, the total amount due, and any payment terms. This tool covers all of these, though exact requirements can vary by country and industry.
How invoice numbers work
An invoice number is a unique reference you assign to each invoice, useful for your own records and for your client to reference when paying. This tool starts with a simple default like INV-001 — you're free to use your own numbering system.
Invoice subtotal, discounts, and taxes
The subtotal is the sum of all line items (quantity × rate). Any discount is applied to the subtotal first, then tax is calculated on the discounted subtotal, and any shipping or additional fee is added last to produce the total. You enter the tax rate yourself — this tool does not automatically determine sales tax, VAT, or GST for any country, so double-check the correct rate for your situation.
When is an invoice due?
The due date is when you expect payment, often 30 days after the issue date by default, though many businesses use 15, 14, or "due on receipt" terms instead. State your expected due date clearly and consider noting your payment terms as well.
How to save an invoice as PDF
Click "Print / Save as PDF," then choose "Save as PDF" (or a similar option) as the destination in your browser's print dialog instead of printing to paper. The invoice document is formatted to print cleanly on its own, without the rest of the ToolLora page.
Are invoices created on ToolLora stored?
No. Everything you enter stays in your browser for the current page session only — nothing is uploaded to or saved on ToolLora's servers, and refreshing the page clears the form. If you need to keep a copy, save it as a PDF or print it before leaving the page.
Frequently asked questions
Is this invoice generator free?
Yes — completely free, with no account and no limits on how many invoices you create.
Can I save my invoice as a PDF?
Yes. Click "Print / Save as PDF" and choose "Save as PDF" as the destination in your browser's print dialog.
Can I add taxes to an invoice?
Yes. Enter a tax rate as a percentage and it's applied to the discounted subtotal. You're responsible for entering the correct rate — this tool doesn't calculate jurisdiction-specific tax automatically.
Can I add a discount?
Yes, as either a percentage or a fixed amount. The discount is applied to the subtotal before tax is calculated.
Can I create invoices in different currencies?
Yes. Choose from USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, or BRL. This only changes the currency symbol and formatting — it does not convert amounts between currencies.
Does ToolLora store my invoice data?
No. Your invoice is built entirely in your browser and is never uploaded to ToolLora's servers. It isn't saved to an account either — refreshing the page clears the form.
Can I add multiple items?
Yes. Use "+ Add Item" to add as many line items as you need, and remove any item you no longer need — at least one line item always stays so the invoice remains valid.
What information should an invoice include?
Typically an invoice number, dates, your details and your client's details, a description of what's being billed, quantities and rates, the total due, and payment terms — all of which this tool includes.
Are ToolLora invoices legally valid?
Invoice requirements vary by country and business situation, so we can't guarantee that an invoice created here satisfies every local legal or tax requirement. Please confirm what your jurisdiction requires and consult a professional if you're unsure.
